Reports to Assistant Corporate Controller who has global responsibility for Accounting, SEC Reporting, Management Reporting, Controls, etc… This individual will lead a team.

The opportunity:

In this role you will drive enterprise wide initiatives and consult upon highly visible global financial transactions through a people, process and systems lens leveraging your U.S. GAAP and compliance background. This will lead to sustainability, maintenance and/or continual improvement of our client's strong global internal controls and key financial processes.

You will counsel and advise global executives, business partners and team members on complex topics in plain and concise language. You will work with global team members to ensure seamless end-to-end execution of transactions and strategic initiatives and interface with our client's external auditors and the national office technical experts for an accounting perspective.

Specifically, the Director Accounting will:

  • Serve as global business partner, technical accounting expert and ambassador of strong controls and compliance.
  • Provide counsel and guidance to regional business and finance leaders on complex items such as policy interpretation and transactional support from contractual review through assessment of reporting and disclosure impacts.
  • Collaboratively lead key strategic transactions and initiation from an accounting lens assessing global financial impacts and proactively identifying downstream process impacts ensuring successful implementation and sustainable processes.
  • Champion US GAAP, SOX and compliance focus in all international regions, including continual education to global team members or new or updated accounting guidance and reporting requirements.
  • Centralize oversight of all subsidiary statutory financial statement filings

The following experiences and/or qualifications are required:

The ideal candidate is a passionate and strategic leader with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional leaders to drive results. 

  1. CPA with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge
  2. Knowledge and experience in SOX with a proven track record of enhancing organizational internal controls.
  3. Business Acumen: Uses extensive knowledge and insight about the business to fully engage in business discussions and lead Accounting Excellence strategy to improve business outcomes.
  4. Change Champion: Partners to lead and sustain change creating an agile and responsive organization.

The following items are helpful or preferred, but not required:

  1. Matrix Organization: Demonstrated track record of influencing and delivering results in a matrix structure.
  2. Industry: Experience in a consumer-centric industry.
  3. International: Experience in an international or global role or group.
  4. CIA
