The Director of Cash Management and Treasury Operations will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. As the Director of Cash Management and Treasury Operations at Latham, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, operations and policies related to cash management, foreign exchange, borrowing, risk management, and payment processing. The Director liaises with practice office accounting managers to ensure cash management transactions are handled in accordance with approved policies and procedures and to the firm’s benefit. He or she implements firm accounting guidelines and procedures with respect to cash management techniques and instruments available to minimize risk including interest rate and currency hedges, and where appropriate recommends to Senior Management the appropriate modifications for consideration. He or she develops and supervises his or her staff by performing a multitude of responsibilities. In addition, he or she leads the department to ensure all activities and requests are completed efficiently and according to approved policies and procedures. He or she keeps abreast of industry trends to ensure best practices and compliance with federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations concerning cash management practices, while accomplishing these and other critical functions: 

  • Managing investment portfolio, relations with advisor/partner financial institutions, and cash management activities including borrowings and debt balance and compliance with all debt covenants.
  • Reviewing and maintaining all capital leases.
  • Assessing and developing currency and interest rate hedging strategies to minimize the negative impact to the firm.
  • In consultation with the CFO and appropriate firm Committees, implementing investment policies consistent with our established risk parameters.
  • With the senior members of the Finance and Accounting department, developing processes to determine daily worldwide cash position; implementing the appropriate systems and mechanisms to track and manage intra-company funding.
  • Forecasting sources and uses of cash and managing and mitigating foreign currency exposure.
  • Managing all aspects of fraud prevention functions.
  • Ensuring treasury activities are in compliance with treasury policies, accounting guidelines, governance policies and internal controls. Developing systems to monitor and control cash management activities.
  • Managing and developing direct reports and all related activities.
  • Working with the Human Resources Department regarding the following areas; selection, training, coaching, and disciplining departmental employees.
  • Ensuring appropriate systems comply with firm policies and procedures. In addition, with the CFO and other Department Directors, recommending and implementing cash management policies, systems and controls to increase efficiency and effectiveness of staff and reporting systems.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the firm’s global cash position and initiates required daily short-term investments and borrowing transactions.

Requirements

As a Director of Cash Management and Treasury Operations, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Director of Cash Management and Treasury Operations must have global cash management knowledge, and the ability to mentor and teach the successful application of Non-US currency management to a team of finance professionals; practical knowledge dealing with derivatives, interest rate options, and FX forward contracts; knowledge of federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations concerning cash management practices, including the US banking systems and transfers as related to efficient global currency exchange. 

A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is desired. A CPA or CTP/CCM certificate is desired. Ten (10) years of relevant experience in finance or banking is desired. Eight (8) years of relevant cash management experience is desired. Relevant experience at a financial institution or a company with international cash management is desired. Occasional travel is required of this position.
