  • Responsible for supporting the FP&A function in their evaluation of revenue contracts and transactions, contract clauses assessment within the IFRS 15 framework, recording of revenue transactions in the respective ERP systems and reporting of the affected balances in the financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Serve as a revenue subject matter expert resource for the broader North American Accounting Center organization supporting various entities, including newly acquired ones, across all four Divisions of Wolters Kluwer.
  • Help ensure the accuracy and timely closing of the general ledger and assist in the financial reporting efforts of the accounting team Coordinate the month and year end reporting to division, as well as interim and year-end audits
  • Ensure revenue-related and other financial accounts are reconciled; issues investigated and resolved timely enabling accurate financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet assigned deadlines and deliver on goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze contracts, make recommendations on accounting treatment, record and report sales and related transactions in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, record and report, as necessary, accounts receivable and related transactions in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Follow up on reconciling items to ensure they are being addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Actively participate in the month end reporting and review and analysis of financial reports; initiate actions resulting from such reviews Proactively conduct independent analysis to identify trend changes or opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and liabilities.
  • Develop strong relationships with the business through solid business acumen; respectfully challenge the business and offer solutions to resolve issues in an effective, cost efficient manner.
  • Proactively develop analysis and reporting tools in support of the monthly closing and review process.
  • Proactively and independently identify risks and opportunities as they relate to the balance sheet and income statements along with recommendations to resolve or reduce risk exposure.
  • Assist in the formulation and preparation of monthly and annual reporting requirements Assist in the coordination on internal and external audits.
  • Participate/coordinate accounting or cross-business unit finance projects to identify and implement process improvements and process streamlining.
  • Assist in ensuring that the internal control documentation is in place and is being followed Demonstrate an ability to challenge the status quo to improve processes, reduce manual work efforts and improve timeliness of reporting.


  • A minimum of five years of previous accounting and/or audit experience in a public or private accounting firm or similar environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university;
  • CPA or working towards license preferred Proficiency with revenue recognition transactions within a multi-national company.
  • Strong reporting and data querying capabilities Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; experience with SAP and Great Plains preferred.
  • Detail oriented approach to work, confidentiality, good problem solving skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • Must be proactive and recommend solutions when discussing problems and issues.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% - usually visits for face-to-face meetings with the Business Units and North America Accounting Center Leadership.
