Aurora hires people who want to build the future of transportation. We are searching for a Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join the Finance & Accounting team. We are building a high-performing team, focused on providing value to our customers, accurate financial reporting, and quickly delivering results with a strong sense of urgency and accountability. The ideal candidate will be someone who is currently an Audit Manager in public accounting at one of the Big 4 public accounting firms. This position will be a great first industry job right out of public accounting and will report to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical accounting with expertise in the following accounting standards: ASC 606: Revenue from Contracts with Customers ASC 808: Collaborative Arrangements ASC 730: Research and Development ASC 842: Leases ASC 505: Equity ASC 985: Software ASC 805: Business Combinations
  • Preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations of accounts related to technical accounting subjects.
  • Customer and vendor contract review and application of accounting standards.
  • Recurring financial reporting to management, the board of directors and outside investors. This includes automating the reporting process through NetSuite.
  • Main contact with our external auditors and management of the annual audit process, including preparation and review of PBC’s, responding to questions and preparation of the financial statements and related notes.
  • Assisting in systems implementations including accounting, forecasting and capitalization table management software.
  • Assisting in budget to actual reviews and forecasting. Ad-hoc special projects and areas where you can make a difference.

We expect this role to be a versatile accounting athlete who can operate independently and help solve problems.

Requirements

  • Essential Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • 5 years in public accounting at a Big 4 public accounting firm with at least one year as a manager.
  • Current expertease in US GAAP.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to manage and teach people.
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
