Wholesale and International Strategy (WIS) is accountable for strategy of:
One of the two primary responsibilities of WIS is to drive the annual strategic planning process for Wholesale Banking and Wells Fargo’s international business. As part of the process, WIS facilitates discussions among senior leaders to promote alignment and collaboration across LOBs and support groups. The other responsibility of WIS is to address strategic questions and lead a variety of high-impact initiatives. The types of initiatives include business portfolio reviews, business strategy formulation, priority alignment across LOBs, business case development for strategic investment, and enhancement of control and governance.
WIS is part of the Wholesale COO Group. The Wholesale and International Senior Strategy Consultant is responsible for independently managing small projects, assisting senior members of the team as they lead larger strategic initiatives, solve complex strategic issues and manage the strategic planning process.
A successful candidate must be a strategic thinker and have outstanding analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. The candidate with a robust understanding of Wholesale Banking businesses would be strongly preferred. The candidate needs to have strong leadership and organizational/interpersonal skills as he/she needs to collaborate with senior partners from LOBs and support groups.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions.
There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service men and women.
